“REMARKABLE REVIVAL”

JOHN 21:1-25.  Edwin Finley

 

I.                   Realized—John 21:1-7

A.    Peter realized where he had been.

1.      Peter had been a disciple.

2.      Peter had been a doer.

B.     Peter realized where he was.

1.      Peter had returned to his former position

2.      Peter had returned to his former passion.

C.     Peter realized where he needed to be.

1.      Peter needed to be in Jesus presence.

2.      Peter needed to be in Jesus prefect plan.

II.                Ran---John 21:7-8

A.    Peter ran without concern.

1.      Peter ran without concern for the distance.

2.      Peter ran without concern for the depth.

B.     Peter ran without his colleagues.

1.      Peter ran on impulse.

2.      Peter ran interest of peer pressure.

III.             Received—John 21:9-13

A.    Peter received food.

1.      Peter received physical food

2.      Peter received spiritual food

B.     Peter received faith.

1.      Peter received faith in his present.

2.      Peter received faith in his future

IV.             Revived—John 21:14-25

A.    Peter was revived to feed the sheep

1.       Peter was revived to teach the sheep

2.       Peter was revived to tend the sheep

B.     Peter was revived to follow the shepherd.

1.      Peter was revived to follow the shepherd in action.

2.      Peter was revived to follow the shepherd in altitude.
